President’s Message | Christian T. Shaughnessy (2023-24)

At a time when working families suffer, our Black brothers and sisters have their right to vote threatened, communities breathe in polluted air, and democracy itself is under attack, it is essential that the future of this country organize to fight back.

We in San Bernardino County know this and we know this from witnessing the struggle for justice take place on our streets, in our voting booths, and in our community’s hearts. As the young people of this county, state, and nation become the most diverse in our history we shall not let the challenges of the moment cause us despair.

We will continue the legacy of our honored ancestors who sacrificed so much for us to reach the progress we have. We will continue the fight for justice and equality until this country truly fulfills the promises it made so many hundreds of years ago.

We are organizing the youth to this end. We are organizing Democrats to this end. We are organizing our working families to this end. We are organizing our future to this end, for the sake of people we will never meet, simply because it is the right thing to do.
